Managing Accounts
What counts as an account
Anything that holds money. Current accounts, savings pots, credit cards, investment accounts. Every transaction in Cisti is linked to one, which is how balances stay accurate without you doing maths.
Adding one
- Open Accounts in the menu.
- Click Add Account.
- Fill in name, type, currency, and opening balance.
- Save.
The opening balance is whatever's in the account on the day you start tracking it. Future transactions adjust it from there.
Account types
| Type | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Current | Everyday spending |
| Savings | Pots, emergency funds, anything earmarked |
| Credit Card | The balance represents money you owe |
| Investment | Shares, ETFs, funds (tracked in detail in Investments) |
Editing and deleting
The ⋮ menu on each account card lets you edit name, type, or opening balance, or delete the account entirely.
Deleting an account also deletes every transaction linked to it. There's no undo.
Joint finances
If you share money with a partner, a linked account lets both of you see the same data. Email support to set it up.
